Welcome to Studio Gleaned, home of sustainable jewellery and small objects made by artist Kes Harper using recycled materials.

First...a little background on the artworks you'll find in the gallery shop.

Initially working in silver, Kes's jewellery was reminiscent of archeological finds using etched and oxidised surfaces with Celtic, Maori, American Indian influences.

After an inspiring trip to New Zealand in 2010 Kes found a way to add colour to her jewellery - affordably, sustainably, uniquely. So, abstracting sections from olive oil tins (often not recycled) was born!

Her style of work has grown and developed, now combining silver, found copper and other elements. The decorative tins also include tea caddies, biscuit tins and vintage finds all of which offer decorative details too beautiful to 'throw away'.

Using everyday materials, Kes gently turns our attention to upcycling, reuse and gleaning... in a beautiful and unique way.

Gleaned jewellery has contemporary style - from cool silver and steel earrings, rings and collaged brooches to elegant lariat necklaces - each wrapped in stories of their provenance.
